Our first signature luncheon of 2018 will feature an insightful conversation between Jonathan Tisch, Chairman & CEO of Loews Hotels and Roger Dow, President & CEO of the U.S. Travel Association.

Jonathan M. Tisch

Jonathan M. TischJonathan M. Tisch is Co-Chairman of the Board and a member of the Office of the President of Loews Corporation, one of the largest diversified financial holding companies in the U.S., and is also Chairman and CEO of its subsidiary, Loews Hotels & Co.

During his tenure as Chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels & Co., Tisch engineered the company's expansion and emergence as a leading luxury hotel brand by infusing the properties with a widely praised corporate culture that places a high value on partnerships that empower employees, satisfy customers, contribute to communities and improve the bottom line. Tisch initiated the Loews Hotels Good Neighbor Policy over 20 years ago, the first of its kind in the hospitality industry. Today, the Good Neighbor program underscores his enduring commitment to good corporate citizenship, social responsibility and the health of our environment and communities.

The author of three bestselling books, Tisch has written extensively about his leadership philosophy, the customer experience and civic engagement. They are The Power of We: Succeeding Through Partnerships; Chocolates on the Pillow Aren't Enough: Reinventing the Customer Experience; and Citizen You: Doing Your Part to Change the World.

Widely recognized as a passionate advocate on behalf of the multi-billion dollar travel and tourism industry, Tisch works tirelessly to educate elected officials and the public at large about the industry's significant economic, social and diplomatic contributions. He founded and served as Chairman of the Travel Business Roundtable until 2008, and now serves as Chairman Emeritus of its successor organization, the United States Travel Association.

Roger Dow

Roger DowRoger Dow is president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, the Washington, D.C.-based national umbrella organization representing all segments of travel in America. U.S. Travel's mission is to increase travel to and within the United States. On several occasions, Dow has met with administration officials and congressional leaders to discuss important travel issues, and his efforts have resulted in major legislative victories for travelers. In particular, he was instrumental in establishing Brand USA, the highly effective national promotion program, which was reauthorized through 2020 by Congress.

Prior to joining U.S. Travel in 2005, Dow advanced through the ranks at Marriott International in a tenure spanning 34 years, where he rose to senior vice president of global and field sales. He has held seats on numerous boards including ASAE, PCMA, the Travel Institute, RE/MAX International and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. Dow also served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star and other citations.

Is this the end of social media as we know it?

Facebook and Twitter are now over 10 years old – social platforms have reached puberty. After the fun, wild ride of that last decade all signs point to social media's adolescence being a lot more difficult: influencers are now fake, bots like your Instagram photos, Facebook is miscalculating your video views and governments are thinking loud about more regulation.

Savvy marketers understand that social media is not going away (in fact it will only continue to grow), but it has to be approached very differently to deliver results. This presentation addresses the big changes that are coming to social media, explains how marketers need to adapt to ensure their content continues to reach the right audiences and offers some surprisingly simple tactics that can significantly boost your social media ROI.
